Before returning to graduate school for a Ph.D., I worked for many years as a costume designer. I designed, assisted, shopped, sewed, crafted, and dressed clothes for shows on and off Broadway, for musicals, opera, Shakespeare, burlesque, new plays, and some downtown experimental dance theater.
